There isn't a way things should be. There's just what happens, and what we do.

~ Terry Pratchett (A Hat Full of Sky)

After completing a BSc (Hons) in Kinesiology at UVic, Helen’s ever-growing appreciation for movement and human complexity led her to further pursue a Masters in Physiotherapy at the University of Toronto. While completing this degree, she simultaneously achieved her proudest moment in life – being voted by her class “Most Likely to Make it in Hollywood”… So many dreams, so little time.

Helen strives to work collaboratively with individuals to help them build and maintain their physical capacity for the things they love. Her role is that of a coach who listens to each person’s story in order to guide them towards greater confidence and trust in their bodies using movement as a primary catalyst for healing. She has a special interest in working with performing artists, including dancers, singers and musicians, and has notable experience with treating hand and wrist injuries. She also happens to be fluent in both Afrikaans and English!

Her own physical activity background includes pre-professional dance training, recreational hiking, and dabbling in running, swimming, cycling, rock climbing, and tai chi. When not in the clinic, rehearsing in a studio or acting on a stage, she’ll spend her time reading, writing, making art, singing in the shower, watching movies, and (most importantly) eating toast.
